Android Market, the Android application store
As already proposed a few months ago, Android applications will store similar to the iPhone App Store, with which we will have a central location for downloading and purchasing applications for our phone.
Your name will be Android Market, and unlike the Apple Store, Google need not approve the applications, but simply sign up and upload. To manage these, there will be a ratings system similar to that used on Youtube.
This store will be available as early as the first models to appear with Android, though not in full version. What is certain is the ability to download applications for free, to join what was then the paid versions support, download statistics, …
Of course, the most important point of this shop is no need for prior approval by Google, as if it happens with the applications for the iPhone and, indeed, for any other motive. This will develop any type of application, not just those that Google considers relevant.
In return, it is likely that we find a number of applications of low quality or useless, but the voting system and comments should make for easy organization and confirm the quality of each application before downloading.
