ATI%20Mobility ATI RV740 and RV790 in preparation?

ATI quietly preparing a reply to GTX285 and GTX295 who themselves were a response to the 4870 X2 which was first place for performance over several months.

We learn that stamped samples RV740 and RV790 would be outstanding, and yet it is only a simple die shrink to 40 nm, thereby understand pasted a copy but with a more detailed engraving and can be frequency revised upwards.

ATI will be like with nVidia GT200b, with the key to reduced consumption and increased frequency minimal but nothing transcendent.

These chips probably will replace the current HD 4850 and 4870 pending the release of the RV870 which will bring a new batch of much consequence. The launch date is set for March (who said Cebit).

GTX 295 GTX 285 and GeForce GTX 295: Nvidia seeks pole positionThe return of Nvidia in offering high-end graphic is anticipated for January 2009.

It will take shape with a GeForce GTX 285, changing the current GeForce GTX 280.

The dual-format card slot will carry a chip etched to 55 nm derivative GT 200. According to some unofficial information, 240 Stream Processors and 1 GB of GDDR3 answer the call.

The shift to a more fine engraving would also be beneficial to power with a decline of 22% against the current GTX 280 (183 against 236 Watts Watts).

Nvidia does not stop in the road and a GeForce GTX 295 is also in its cartons.

This dual-GPU solution would support two chips GT200 engraved in 55 nm. In total, 480 Stream Processors are expected (240 stream processors per chip assets) and 1792 MB of GDDR3.

Later consumption, the philosophy is antagonistic to economies with 289 Watts assumed.

These two innovations should be unveiled by its manufacturer at CES 2009.
