
The Taiwanese manufacturer Asus plans to further diversify its range of mini laptop Eee PC and launch models with touch screens in the first quarter of 2009.
According to the site DigiTimes, Asus has not yet decided which models Netbook would be updated with this feature, and decide on this issue according to market demand. The first Eee PC touch could be exposed in January at the 2009 CES (Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas), according Samson Hu, head of the division Asus Eee PC in interviews DigiTimes.
It also revealed that Eee PC models equipped with the next Intel dual-core Atom would be marketed as soon as the Intel chip will be ready. However, their availability date has yet been unveiled by Intel.
Asus has planned to launch more than 20 models of Eee PC by the end of the year. It just formalize the model as “high end”: the Eee PC S101, machine with 10-inch screen and ultra fine with SSD drives larger capacity.
