ASUS Eee PC 1000HE Worst Keyboard Flex I’ve Seen
I just received an ASUS Eee PC 1000HE yesterday and I was shocked at how much flex there was in the keyboard. I read in most of the major reviews that the chiclet keyboard had less flex but this keyboard has the most flex I’ve seen on any netbook, beating out the 10.1” Acer Aspire One D150.
Turns out that there is adhesive under the keyboard which keeps the keyboard sheet stuck in place and by the time you receive your 1000HE it may not be as sticky anymore or the sheet could have come loose. All you have to do is press down firmly on all areas of the keyboard to fix the flex! This feels like a short term solution though and it’d probably be better to take off the keyboard and apply more adhesive.
Anyway I’m very pleased with the keyboard and while I couldn’t care less about a bigger right shift key I certainly like the feel of these chiclet keyboards. I can’t really say if they are better than the old school type keys, it’s just a different feeling.
