Windows 7: Basic and Starter editions in build 7025
During the development of Windows 7, the parade builds prior to 7000 indicated that Microsoft was being developed “pure”. Since the arrival of build 7000, aka Beta 1 public, work continued on the branch 7x and is therefore not surprising that some partners have received a new build stamped 7025.
Note that build number is a compilation of the system. In broad terms, this means that the 7025 has received 25 additional compilations and therefore have been changes, fixes and optimizations. A Chinese website has obtained the new beta version which is in a special program from Microsoft to test the Home Premium edition. Two special catch bring important information and / or interesting.
If this is confirmed, it could be that Windows 7 has editions Starter and Home Basic. It is quite surprising to see Microsoft still offer a basic version, since it will be devoid of anything that affects Aero (and improvements) and the Media Center. The range of Windows would have largely benefited from being simplified by not offering such a unique product dedicated to the family.
The other relates to capture the taskbar. It appears that Microsoft has provided a simple way to restore the Quick Launch. Since it is completely redundant with the new bar, the option is to couple it with the default behavior that is found in all Windows 95 to Vista (a button in the bar with application).
Finally, the version of Internet Explorer 8 build integrated in Windows 7025 is 7 Release Candidate 1. It will be recalled that the RC1 is expected this week.
