Microsoft Windows 7 offers unlimited downloads

Microsoft has reduced the limits on the number of copies of the beta version of Windows 7 is scheduled to make available to fans of PC after a crash of the application to download the new operating system for servers to a standstill during the weekend.
“Due to a massive increase in demand, the experience of downloading is not ideal for what he heard and took the necessary measures to ensure a good experience,” head of communications for Microsoft Windows Brandon LeBlanc wrote in a blog on Saturday.
“We heard that many of you want to exit Windows 7 Beta, and accordingly we decided to remove the ceiling of 2.5 million in public beta for the next two weeks,” says LeBlanc, who has said that the unlimited download would be extended through January 24.
“Meanwhile, you will have access to the beta, although the number is higher than the 2.5 million downloads,” said LeBlanc.
Last week at CES 2009 in Las Vegas, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has raised expectations about Windows 7.
“We are on track to deliver the best version of Windows. We have all the ingredients – simplicity, reliability and speed, and is working hard to get and prepare, “said Ballmer. Compared to the very maligned Vista, Windows 7 should start faster, more autonomy and fewer caveats, “said Ballmer.
Ballmer also touted Windows 7 better support for networking and multimedia content, and touch screen capabilities.
Microsoft Windows 7 a success. Vista, the current version of Windows, failed to capture the main users of computers and businesses that have rejected outright. Many users have complained about the hardware requirements for Vista, intrusive security measures, and lack of compatibility with older applications.
Dissatisfaction with Vista has allowed Apple to gain market share from Microsoft in the market for operating systems of computers in recent months. Windows market share in November fell below 90% for the first time in years, while Mac OS is now flirting with 10%, depending on the application of market surveillance network.
Microsoft hopes that Windows 7, to be published in final form in late 2009 or early 2010, to stem the tide.

I only recently downloaded this Windows version, but it doesn’t look half bad. I got it because it is compatible with my new 4G
wireless internet here in Portland. I am excited to see if it in fact better than Vista.
