Internet Explorer 8 in Windows XP SP3 attention!

If you are using Windows XP, you may have at one time installed the Beta 1 of Internet Explorer 8. At the time, Microsoft had warned that some manipulations could lead to the final inlay browser. Indeed, if you decide to install Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, Internet Explorer 8 could not be uninstalled.
It lies on a similar scenario today with the Beta 2 browser, but there are actually two possibilities. Internet Explorer 8 can be installed on Windows XP if the Service Pack 2 is now at least. The “minimum” means that the third Pack may be present. In this case, everything goes well and the browser can be uninstalled.
The first case things get complicated is if a user has installed the beta 1 and then the Service Pack 3. The beta is therefore embedded in the system and can not be uninstalled. If the user then applies the beta 2, the problem is exactly the same: it can be removed.
The second case concerns a system that contains only the Service Pack 2. The installation of the beta 2 goes well, and we then decided to install Service Pack 3. Even scenario with the beta 1: the browser is crystallized, or “locked” by the major upgrade. In either case, the only way to remove Internet Explorer 8 will be required to pass through the uninstall Service Pack 3.
The transaction is heavy and painful, and it is better to be warned before embarking on these manipulations.
