Cisco acquires PostPath and its collaborative platform
$ 215 million is the sum that will spend the firm Cisco to buy the company PostPath. The last published so far a solution combining e-mails and calendars online, in a collaborative fashion, all that can operate on any system as usable through a web browser.

The acquisition of PostPath will enrich the WebEx platform, which also belonged to the society of the same name, acquired by Cisco in March of last year. One of the big advantages of PostPath is that its e-mail can work with many other messaging solutions, particularly Microsoft’s ActiveSync and RIM BlackBerry.
PostPath solutions can be used through a Web browser that supports as it should technologies Web 2.0. This solution is similar for example to that provided by Microsoft Outlook Web Access, which allows to consult his letters on a server Exchange. PostPath, however, has a client “hard” compatible with GNU / Linux distributions.

The acquisition will be finalized for the first fiscal quarter of Cisco. In its statement, the firm said that all current employees of PostPath be integrated into its own Collaboration Software Group.
