With 70x The Panasonic SDR-S26

At first glance, the Panasonic camcorder SDR-S26 ($ 329) is another flash camcorder that records in standard definition. It has a black barrel, elegant but common. It has a mere handful of buttons on the back, and inside when you open the LCD screen.
And yet, is one of the most memorable camcorders announced at CES this year. This is because in her little body is a monster, a 70x optical zoom. This is unprecedented in a consumer camcorder of this size. Even in miniDV and DVD models, which can be 50X or 60X, it would be a milestone.
But especially in a flash, optical zoom is generally not exceed 10 times or 12X is simply incomprehensible. One might ask, how’d fit around here?
As we have in our hands, our greatest concern is image stabilization. The S26 has the optical image stabilization, similar to what is found in the company of Lumix cameras, but the fact is, it is more difficult to keep the image that the continued expansion of the zoom. What really impressed us on the S26, except that even 70x optical zoom, is how to recover quickly camcorder approach we continue to drive the zoom. The prospects remain strong as we did, and by the time we got to 70x might be made in detail, including the LCD screen. On the question of “What can you do with a 70x? Standing showroom CES, we could do in tiny lines in the rafters, above.
The S26 will be available in April for $ 329. Until then, check out our hands on the video to see how far you zoom and what kind of details can be seen from afar.
