Seagate: new record with 500 GB per tray?
The DSS has beautiful not (yet) compete with traditional magnetic hard drives in terms of capacity / price, the undeniable rise of storage media flash drives innovation in this field.
The hard drive manufacturer Seagate, already the record holder with a capacity of 1.5 Barracuda 7200.11 To (1 500 GB), will soon break a new record with a mere 3.5-inch HDD 500 GB
This was the record shelf capacity since the hard drive from the Barracuda 7200.12 range future is satisfied with a single posting record thus the capacity of 500 GB 7 200 rpm. Samsung has already plateaus 500 GB but not operating at 5 400 rpm. The ST3500410AS is a hard drive formatted 3.5-inch (desktop) using the S-ATA connectors and 16 MB buffer.
It is already available for pre-order on some foreign online shops for about 50 euros. Although no official announcement has yet been made, it is reasonable to assume that land on European shelves in the coming weeks. In all logic, hard drives to 4 trays of 2TB may follow.
