Towards a shortage of Blu-ray decks for Christmas

Some may be disappointed when they do not find at the foot of fir their Blu-ray both expected to see their latest high definition DVD … According to a study published by the consultancy Screen Digest, it will be difficult to find a platinum Blu-ray cheap during the holiday season in Europe.
The main reason for the likely shortage: lack of market availability of a European electronic component essential to the smooth operation of this type of platinum, which has created tension on the production line on last week. The supply problem has led some slowing specials on turntables and Blu-ray, expected to take the place of traditional DVD in the coming years.
Less than Blu-ray entry-level available in Europe
And even if these concerns supply electronic components are now resolved, manufacturers will not have time to provide their time Blu-ray entry-level to satisfy all requests for Christmas. Manufacturers prefer to give priority to turn primarily to market “more mature” as the adjective used by Screen Digest, as the United States or Japan.
And because of the economic crisis, if consumers can not now have access to these decks cheap, it’s a good bet they will refrain for some time to renew their video equipment, and will continue to buy DVD, then abandoning the high definition.
“Although some companies in Europe already offer Blu-ray for less than 250 euros, these cheap products to more limited technical specifications should be more difficult to find in European magazines. The Blu-Ray to less than 155 euros should not be the standard product in Europe at Christmas as is the case in the United States, “says Richard Cooper, an analyst for Screen Digest.
A market that Ariva mature within three years
The transition to the Blu-ray format should therefore take more time. The market for high definition should reach maturity in 2012 in Europe. Screen Digest provides that the Blu-ray should represent 57% of the budget video of the French in 2012. The emergence of this format should also be reinforced by the fact that, according to the study, 91% of French households will be equipped with high-definition television within three years. And predict that 36% of these households will then have a Blu-ray. This estimate could reach 55% if one takes into account the game consoles PlayStation 3, which support high-definition format.
Sreen Digest prefers in any case remain optimistic about the future (promising) Blu-ray: the firm provides that drives prices should begin to decline at the beginning of next year …
