Intel has not yet announced, but the new SSD products leaked a few online stores in Europe.

This is a 64 GB version of the X-25E line SLC solid state drives, which are typically used in business storage solutions and servers. According to Fudzilla, the unit should reach 22 stores in February for $ 790. And what you get for the price? A DSS may even exceed the X25-M SSDS consumer class.

Price is an interesting point, since Intel has been the decline in prices on its range of SSD afternoon. Here’s how the new unit will be in the line:

X25-E (64 GB): $ 790
X25-M (160 GB): $ 765
X25-E (32 GB): $ 415
X25-M (80GB): $ 390

What is even more interesting is the breakdown that occurs when you look at the reality of U.S. dollars at the rate gigabyte solid state drives. Assuming that ~ 4.5 per cent difference in performance reported by the technical report WorldBench 6 reference is correct, you pay almost three times the price per gigabyte drive. We calculate the exact ratios below:

X25-E (64 GB): $ 12.34/GB
X25-M (160 GB): $ 4.78/GB
X25-E (32 GB): $ 12.96/GB
X25-M (80GB): $ 4.88/GB

Intel could be one of the speeds of the solid leader, but this performance comes with a price. Of course, the difference represents the difference between SLC (single level cell) and MLC (multi-level cell) design: The X25-E is the old series and the X25-M is the second.
