The latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer is now available for download, and I was watching the new version of the browser.
In general, IE8 is an improvement over earlier Microsoft browsers, and I think it is on an equal footing with competitors such as Firefox and Safari in features, performance and ease of use. May this not be sufficient to attract new users who have defected to Firefox over the past few years, but it is worth the upgrade for those still using earlier versions of IE.
The main feature of IE8 is its adherence to standards such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The advantage of this is that it encourages greater interoperability of the Web, but can cause problems with web content designed around the specific in previous versions of IE.
Unlike a first review of IE8 beta, I had some problems with the content is not in IE8. In fact, I find it difficult to find sites that showed no problem. Which revealed the problems were almost all web applications, rather than the public face of websites, which suggests that firms are more likely to require the compatibility of IE8 to display pages as they would appear in IE7 . Pages that have no problems with IE8 seems to work well if you have the Vista compatibility. (more…)

The latest personal media player from Cowon is clearly to be an iPod Touch, when I grow up. It is almost – but not quite – the feeling of equality in many areas. It has a 3.3 inch screen compared to the feeling of the 3.5-inch, for example. Available in sizes of 8 GB and 16 GB, while the touch is now 32 GB And instead of key Wi-Fi is much less useful S9 Bluetooth.
In some areas, however, achieved S9 pip his rival in the post. The audio quality, particularly the strong demand for young Cowon Whipper snapper. The BBE audio system + really managed to put the punch in compressed music files. A selection of further improvements and refinements JetEffect equalizer lets you adjust sound to your taste also, in some cases help offset the weakness of the helmet. In this regard, you should count on a good pair of cans at a time, as the buds are provided here does not really do justice S9. (more…)

If data backup is the only characteristic that you need an external storage device, the name of Toshiba 500GB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive can fill the bill. This $ 149 device does not have ultra-fast data transfer rates and security essential to the joint venture, but the unit can be a good solution for users who need a pinch of backup.
Design
Measuring 5.0 x 3.2 x 0.7 inches and weighing 6.0 ounces, the Toshiba unit slips easily into a shirt pocket or pants. We are fans of simple black-blue-striped colors, but the unit’s plastic body feels cheap. Indeed, when pressure is applied on the shell, and not bend is a good sign for a unit that is designed to protect your valuable data. Bumper rubber on the bottom of the car to protect against electric shock.
Performance
After connecting the camera to a Toshiba laptop computer via a USB cable, the laptop was used to test transfer to transfer a 4.97GB folder of mixed media. Writing the file took 5 minutes and 22 seconds, a speed of 15.8 Mbps, which is slightly below the average of 17.6 Mb / s handheld reader. In our reading test, the device has transferred the same file fast 3:14, or 26.2 MB / s. This is the second fastest growing (via USB) for all handheld units that we tested.

Based on some of the things you’ve read about Windows 7, are sometimes not so obvious that we always talk about a work in progress. This is not the case with the 7057 building – a small reminder in the center of the computer when Windows starts. Notepad will be there, shamelessly showing the contents of desktop.ini.
It is quite easy to remedy – it is a simple method.
1. Open the run dialog ( windows + r ) and type shell:startup and press enter.
2. Set your Explorer options to display protected operating system files – pressing alt then T then O will get you to the screen quickly. Click the view tab then uncheck hide protected operating system files.
3. Delete desktop.ini from the folder. [edit] As posted by Chris123nt, you’ll also need to navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and delete desktop.ini there as well. (more…)

RV770 graphics processor from AMD, well known for use in the game variants of the Radeon HD 4870, currently used in the operation of the graphics card. At the same time, AMD has taken a step outside their FireGL brand, most current FirePro professional graphics cards now have a label. Tom’s Hardware had the chance to score a first production model, the FirePro V8700 completely benchmarking.
The brand also FirePro a complete conversion of 80 AMD 55-nanometer manufacturing technology. Buyers should be happy that this means lower energy consumption and thus cooling fans silent. However, you can die of its small size and technological advances also improve performance?
The price is certainly a key factor here. At a price of $ 930 on newegg, the V8700 is an amazing $ 284 cheaper than its predecessor, the FireGL V8600. Until this product came on the market, AMD ATI division has always focused on the maintenance of price / performance of similar products on the ratios of their own design.
Nvidia was able to outperform similar products on the highest end ATI their product offering. These days, Nvidia buyers must be prepared to settle for parity instead of the performance – for example, see our previous article, “Pro Arte: seven cards comparison.” (more…)
