speederrors 99 ways to make your computer blazingly fastOver the past few years working in IT companies as a system administrator, network administrator and help desk professional, I wrote and learned many ways to improve performance not only on my PC, but also many my network equipment from Windows 98 to Windows Vista.

In this article I hope to compile a complete list of all the different methods and tricks that I used to get the last bit of juice from a slow PC. If you use an old PC or the latest and greatest hardware, you can still use some of them to make your PC run faster.

Note that since I write two blogs, and online Help Desk Geek Tech Tips, I wrote previously about the performance that much advice, I will return all the links. If I have not written about it, I throw in a link from an article by some of my favorite sites. This list is in no particular order, just write in order that I think of them. (more…)

This May not be as elegant and easy to find that the Archos 7 Internet Media Tablet (IMT), but the APA00 Compal (left) and APA01 (right) PMP does not really put to the shame of LMI . In fact, sometimes even a place with features such as DVB-T and the recording, FM radio, support for native 1080i HD, and an SD card slot. The ARM-powered devices 7 inch 800 x 480 screens, such as Archos uClinux operating system and runs on a user interface that includes icons for easy finger (top row: Music, video, photos, digital television, browser Bottom line: engraving, Setup, Tool Box, and FM radio).

Cosmetic differences aside, both Compal units are basically the same device. Of course, the APA00 is approximately one oz heavier than the 20.1 oz APA01, PGR, but they are still 0.87-inch thick, supported by a wide range of media formats (including XviD) have removable batteries, and are equipped with a USB 2.0 port, IR sensor (for remote control), TV, stereo speakers, and a 80GB hard drive in place. At a press conference in San Francisco, Intel has launched its latest batch of code names for the next line of products that the chipmaker plans to begin producing in the fourth quarter of this year. Before the meeting with journalists, president and CEO of Intel Paul Otellini said in a speech at the Economic Club of Washington, DC, the company expects to spend $ 7 million over the next year in manufacturing facilities to produce new products.
Intel is moving production to 32 nm from the current 45 nm generation of chips. A nanometer is one billionth of a meter, and Intel numbers refer to the size of circuits of the chip. For the stuffing with the processing of more transistors and other components, chipmakers are able to improve performance, clock speed, processor, while consuming the same amount of energy than the previous generation. large 300x241 Review: Toshiba Portégé R600

Toshiba Portege R600 sets a new standard for laptops ultralights, making it an attractive option for workers who need to carry a PC with them.

However, this is the portability of the disadvantages of a short battery life, high cost of purchase, and a design that feels like it May break unless handled carefully.

Available since the end of 2008, the Portégé R600 has a 12.1in screen, built in 3G broadband modem and a footprint the size of a sheet of A4 paper. It is a great painting only 19.5mm thick at the front and rear 25.5mm when closed. But the weight of this model that is so extraordinary. At just 773g, it feels like picking up an empty shell rather than a fully functioning laptop.

This seems to make the Portege R600 dream machine for users such as executives who travel, but it is difficult to justify the price of £ 1600 of our review unit. Even the entry-level R600 all buyers at least £ 1000, which seems steep when you consider that the netBook with 10in screens can be purchased for £ 300. (more…)
