Asus P6T6, with six PCI-Express x16

asus p6t6 ws revo 500 Asus P6T6, with six PCI Express x16

The last launch of Asus, the motherboard Asus P6T6 This is a big difference compared to other devices on the market. Its main feature is that it integrates six holes PCI-Express 2.0 × 16, which can connect up to six graphics cards simultaneously. Of the six, three of them are linked to withstand a 3-Way from NVidia or ATi CrossFire X, configurations of three graphics in parallel, but in general, the use of all ports depends on what we’ve connected.

The most usual slabs of high-end gamers was to find three or, sometimes, four slots to exploit the opportunities SLI and CrossFire more extreme. In the case of the Asus P6T6 seems to be more oriented work stations with high burden of that process to gamers as it charts current high rates of transactions per second (flops) and thus could be used to be GPUs set of far more powerful even than the CPU of the system.

The Asus P6T6 brings ATX format and the x58 chipset from Intel, which is a plaque only compatible with the Intel Core i7 and her LGA1366 particular socket. In addition to the six PCI-Express, six slots in triple channel DDR3 memory, several USB, two Ethernet ports and which has become quite common in this type of plates.

A problem that is certainly of this board is that, being all together as PCI-Express, will not be able to take advantage of the six slots for graphics cards simultaneously with the most potent, since they tend to occupy a double slot. This way you can see how the slots 1, 3 and 5 are the main (blue), prepared for the 3-Way or CrossFire.

Pricing and availability have not been announced, although seeing a plaque normalita with the x58 Intel comes out about 250-300 euros, it would be ridiculous that this is not Asus P6T6 down from 400 euros.

DriveStation2Share Buffalo Drive Station 2Share: external USB hard disk and network

Buffalo Technology has recently presented DriveStation 2Share, a storage solution that can be used as an external hard disk to back up a PC hard disk or a network to share files and documents

The dual function of this device is available easily and without need of configurations for use as hard disk, in fact, simply connect the USB cable while the mode network connects via ethernet and you press a button.

Concludes the technical function Power Saving Utility, which manages the timing of operation and can “awaken” the DriveStation 2Share either manually or by accessing data in memory. There is no shortage software for the transfer, synchronization and encryption of data.

The Drive 2Share Station is available in the following versions:

HD-CE500LU2 (500GB) Euro 124.99
HD-CE640LU2 (640GB) Euro 139.99
HD-CE1.0TLU2 (1TB) Euro 189.99

Why the Blackberry Storm does not have wi-fi?

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

48ec949a4239d hp Why the Blackberry Storm does not have wi fi?The question arises spontaneously and the answer seems to be only one: to bring you only pay connections. Who gains is of course the operator

The cases are two: either to producers like banana peels, or is there something much more profitable to give customers what they ask. Look for example the Blackberry Storm. Probably the best alternative all’iPhone if it were not for a particular: the missing Wi-Fi.

But how? The most innovative of cell Mora is no support for wireless networks? Some people really believe that it was a forgotten Rim, or perhaps in Canada are no longer able to put together a module Wi-Fi? No, of course. This is a failure that responds to a clear commercial logic: who wants to surf must pay.

The fact is that the world of mobile telephony business is increasingly driven by operators and mega-contracts that bind the apparatus for Plans. Better satisfy the operators (in this case Vodafone, which has had exclusive distribution), which users then.

A risky choice, no doubt, we will see how users will react.

olympus e 30 Olympus E 30: first prices

It has already passed more than a month since the introduction of the Olympus E-30, reflex to attack the expert segment (the Nikon D90, Pentax K20D and Canon EOS 40D). It will happen in January, but some stores are starting to take pre-orders.

The aircraft arguments: a viewfinder correct, a directional screen for live view, a careful construction (though no protection all-time), a gust to 5 frames per second, the autofocus system of semi-professional E-3 … and some options for amateurs: scenes, images etc. styles.

He had also, during his announcement, one flaw: a basic rate to 1299 euros, which we hoped would quickly fall – the announced competitors in this device under the 1000 Euros.

The first arrivals for pre-orders are unfortunately not placed under the sign of economies. Indeed, a handful of euros near the advertised rates are directly aligned with those provided by Olympus. The options that seem most interesting are buying naked, for those who are already equipped with objectives (which have an E-500 and want to move to a higher level, for example), more than 1250 euros, and supply kit with the new goal Zuiko 14-54 mm to around 1,800 euros …

Admittedly, this is a priori an upgrade of a model already acclaimed. But the kit will provide real performance out of the ordinary to justify a deviation from all Nikon D90 + 18-105 mm VR, originally announced in 1150 and now located euros a hundred euros lower.

Next step: in the second half of January, the actual arrival of the aircraft. It will directly face the competition and, hopefully, live a few price adjustments depending on the host will be reserved.
