If 2008 was the year of the ultraportable, next year could be that of nettops. It has been well known to the desktop using a hardware similar to that of the ultraportable, coming in small cabinets.

Examples of this range we have the Asus Eee Box or the Middle Nettop, which joins the HP Compaq Mini Q, which would be two different variants, the 2030 and 2020.

The HP Compaq 2030 Mini Q is the most powerful of the two, coming with an Intel Atom 330 dual-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, a SATA hard disk of 160 GB to 7200 rpm and a DVD recorder. Its operating system is Windows Vista and the price change of about 300 euros.

The version below, the HP Compaq 2020 Mini Q gets an Intel Atom single-core, 1GB of RAM and Windows XP Home, also reducing the price to about 230 euros to change.

For now offered for sale in Taiwan, so we will wait to see if HP decides to launch elsewhere in the world.

IBM with partners and with major American universities decided to build a computer imitating the human brain. Big Blue and researchers from Stanford, Cornell and the University of California, have received 4.9 million dollars from DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), an agency that is part of the Department of Defense.

IBM says that the team hopes to break the “model of the conventional programmable machine.” “Our goal is to create computers deployed literally everywhere, with a new intelligence allowing them to integrate information from a variety of sensors and sources, manage ambiguity, to respond to the context, to learn over time and manage the recognition of structures to solve difficult problems in terms of perception, action and realistic recognition of complex environments “, says in a statement from IBM. The manufacturer of graphics cards S3 Graphics, belonging to VIA Technologies and counting as major competitors Nvidia and ATI, has developed a new range of graphics chips, the Chrome 500, whose first born is the Chrome 530 GT card. For now, this chip is based on cards PCI Express 2.0.

Until recently, TVs of 32 inches with resolutions FullHD could count on the fingers. Toshiba was one of the few manufacturers that have models of this type, although we can now find them in other brands such as Samsung.
