To improve its mobile phone division in difficulties, Motorola has refocused its strategy around Android, the Google mobile platform, and further reduce its workforce.

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, the new leader of the mobile division of Motorola, Sanjay Jha, is expected to unveil this Thursday, on the occasion of the publication of quarterly results, the new plans of the company. The new strategy of the manufacturer, still in great difficulty, should revolve around a net refocus its activities on a limited number of mobile platforms, including Android. (more…)

Microsoft has unveiled its next operating system Windows 7 that will succeed Vista and highlighted the capabilities of this new platform to operate effectively on modest configurations, namely the Netbook.

Microsoft has not seen the phenomenon of coming Netbook, these mini laptops that have emerged on the market in recent months and which, for prices ranging between 250 and 400 euros caracolent leading computer sales. Later operating system, manufacturers have started equipping their Netbook of Linux systems, perfectly calibrated for modest configurations (as Intel Atom and a limited amount of RAM). To track the movement and do not miss the boat, Microsoft has much of a solution to manufacturers of Netbook, as an alternative to Windows Vista, too greedy for resources.
